Islam is the religion of peace, equality and freedom from all forms of oppression. Before the advent of Islam, women were seen to be tortured oppressed and devoid from their rights of freedom. The ignorant rulings of society never paid attention or considered women to deserve as a respectable and renowned status.
As years passed by old traditions and society’s norms slowly began to change. As the old saying goes with every darkness, a new and bright day shall evolve. After the advent of Allah’s religion. Old ways of life came to an end. And just like that women were given a newly found and respectable outlook in all walks of life.
Islam condemns all practices that took place against women during the Dark Ages. It gave females a new and profound right to live their lives according to the teachings of the Quran and Hadith.
Women serve as shields and hide other females in the protection and light of the Holy Quran.
Our religion has worked long and hard to rid the oppression faced by women and other evil practices that were inflicted upon them. Today, Islam is the shield for women by all means.
The rights of women as mentioned in the Holy Quran
Islam puts due significance upon men to respect women and honor them too. This can clearly be seen by the emphasis upon respecting and honoring them in the Holy Quran. There is one whole surah that has been dedicated to the female gender- Surah Al- Nisa.
Women must be respected because they are the partners of men and their helpers. A woman, no matter if she is a daughter, a sister, a wife or your mother- she will always have a crown of glory upon her. She will always be protected by the teachings of the Quran. After all, Islam is the shield for women.
The honor that comes with being a mother in Islam
The role that a mother plays in Islam can never be denied. A mother has endured great pain and hardship to bear her children and bring them into this world. She is the caretaker, protector and guider for all right and just things in this world. ALLAH SWT has mentioned in the Holy Quran that a mother must be respected and honored. Believers that take heed should be grateful to their mothers if they wish to seek pardon on the Day of Judgment. Islam is the shield for women and hence mothers must be treated with the utmost form of dignity.
The great blessings of being a blissful daughter in Islam
Islam condemns the age old practice of burying daughters alive upon their birth. The Holy Prophet PBUH spent his life as a brilliant example of how to beautifully treat daughters with great honor and loving nature. This can be seen with great examples of his behavior with Fatima (RA) his beloved daughter.
Our religion places great importance upon treating daughter justly and with good upbringing. The reward of doing so is equal to Paradise in the Hereafter. Daughters are seen as good deeds in the eyes of ALLAH SWT.
The contemplating of faith as a Muslim wife
Muslim wives are known to contemplate the faith of their husbands. Kindness should be shown with good conduct by husbands. This includes gestures of respect, love and affection of the greatest kind. Husbands should open up to their wives and also respect them by listening to them. This is necessary for a healthy relationship.
The shield of evil being provided as a sister in Islam
Every brother is required to protect, honor and be generous to his sister. Brothers must guard their sisters against all forms of evil doing presently in this world. This will serve as a means for brothers to gain great blessings in Islam. This bond or tie of kinship is very beautiful and delicate, hence should be held with amongst those of the highest degree.
