The 8 Doors of Jannah – Every Muslim should know
Jannah and its eight doors (Paradise of the Rewarding) isn’t described best in the light of Holy Quran and successful are those who are going to make it with unique righteous characteristics.
“Praise is to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.”
What is Jannah according to Islam?
The Promise of Jannah
It is enchanted in Bukhari that,
“In Jannah are things an eye has never seen, an ear has never heard, and a mind can’t imagine”.
The main door from eight doors is considered to be located inside Jannah itself but there are many sub-doorways which can lead to one of the main entrance of eight doors not knowing exact concealed nature. The Jannah (Paradise) has almost eight doors. The evidence of the first four names is mentioned in Hadith that the Prophet (S.A.W.S) said,
“Whoever gives two kinds (of things or property) in charity for Allah’s Cause, will be called from the gates of Paradise and will be addressed, ‘O slaves of Allah! Here is prosperity’. So, whoever was amongst the people who used to offer their prayers, will be called from the gate of the prayer; and whoever was amongst the people who used to participate in Jihad, will be called from the gate of Jihad; and whoever was amongst those who used to observe fasts, will be called from the gate of Ar-Raiyan; whoever was amongst those who used to give in charity, will be called from the gate of charity”{Imams Al-Bukhari}
The fifth name, i.e. al-Ayman, is the Hadith of intercession in which “… Allah Says to the Prophet (S.A.W.S) “O Muhammad! Let those of your followers who have no accounts, enter through the gate of al-Ayman, (a gate of the gates of Paradise that lies on the right); and they will share the other gates with the people”.
And the sixth name that is Al-Kazimen is the Mursal-Hadith, “There is a gate in Paradise that none will enter by except the one who forgives others’ injustice”. [By Ibn Hajr in Al-Fath].
There are other indications of the seventh and eight doors of Jannah in Hadith, Al-Taubah- the gate of those who repress anger and pardon others and lastly Al-Razeen, those who are content that could be from the eight doors.
Daughters – A shortcut to Jannah and a Door from Eight Doors
Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,
“Whoever becomes the father of a girl; he should neither hurt her nor treat her with contempt nor show preference over her to his sons in kindness and affection. (Both boys and girls should be treated alike.) Allah will grant him Paradise in return for kind treatment towards the daughter.”
In this modern society where daughters born are mourned with the burden on the shoulders and is taken as a symbol of disappointment is equalize to back out from the initial door of Jannah of eight doors for which in these Ahadith Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said,
“Anyone who has three daughters and provides for them, clothes them and shows mercy to them will definitely enter the Paradise.”
A man from the people asked, “What about two daughters, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “And two.” (Bukhari: al-Adab al-Mufrad).
Therefore, it is again and again stated in Quran to be kind towards the daughters and to fulfill the obligation towards them in a proper manner for that he would be rewarded with Jannah and to enter in one door from eight doors on the Day of Judgment.
