Renewed your faith in Islam through Hajj: –

So how Hajj renewed my faith as a Muslim. Here are some of the ways Hajj contributes to renewing our commitment to Allah.

  • Everyone is equal in Islam: –

All Muslims, regardless of caste, color and creed wear Ihram signifying equality. When performing Hajj, there are many occasions when a person helps the other. Hajj brings the Muslims from the world together in a single place, strengthening brotherhood.

  • Patience and perseverance is the key to success: –

Hajj is a physically tiring journey. Many of its rituals are exhausting. For example, running between the hills of Safa and Marwa, staying in camps at Mina, and assembling at Mount Arafat, especially in the scorching heat of Saudia Arabia are not easy tasks. However, there are reasons why Allah made all these rites and rituals compulsory. Out of despair, Hazrat Hajra ran between these hills seven times in search of a soul to help her. Her perseverance and patience let her earn Allah’s pleasure so much that He made it obligatory upon every Muslim to run between the hills as she did.

Muslims walk for miles in crowded places during Hajj. This is not easy, especially in such hot weather. Therefore Hajj teaches Muslims to be patient and persistent in their quest for Allah’s pleasure.

  • Humility and Modesty are traits Allah loves the most: –

One of the ways Hajj renewed my faith was by instilling character traits such as modesty and humility. When Muslims cover themselves with white Ihram and abstain from anything fancy, they signify modesty. Also, when Muslims shave their heads or cut a lock of hair in the case of women, they submit themselves to Allah. They signify that they are meek and humble creatures of Allah. Our lives are nothing, but a constant strive to attain the goodwill of Allah.

  • This world is a testing ground for the Hereafter: –

We are so engrossed in this world that we tend to forget the real purpose of life. That is the importance of spiritual renewal is paramount. Hajj reminds us of the real motive of this life. It gives us a glimpse of what the Day of Judgement would be like. Just as Muslims are scattered around Mount Arafat, tired and worried, a similar situation of a much greater magnitude shall be on the Day of Resurrection.

Many rituals of Hajj commemorate the great sacrifices made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). Sacrificing animals on Eid-ul-Azha is a symbolic gesture to stress that we are subjects of Allah. We must be ready to take any test when Allah gives us.

  • We must strive to control worldly desires: –

When Muslims throw stones at the devils, it makes them realize how important it is to stay away from temptations. Devil tries to dissuade us at every step as he tried with Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). However, Hajj renewed my faith and taught me how important it is to remain steadfast on the Guided Path. This is the only way to be successful in both this world and hereafter.

Therefore, renew your faith in Islam by performing Hajj or Umrah.
