Things You Should Take on Umrah for Umrah Checklist
1. Documents
Your document folder will be the most important item in your journey. Keep all things safe and zipped. Make 2-3 photocopies of each document.

- Ticket
- Transport Vouchers
- Hotel Booking Receipt
- Vaccination card
- Shahadah Certificate
- Bank Drafts of Umrah Payment
- Debit/Credit Cards
- Some Saudi Riyals
Make a small phonebook/address book having immediate contacts.
2. Religious Resources
No matter how you well-prepared for Umrah checklist, you do get lost sometimes when you don’t carry a proper guide. Keep small Islamic books and mark the pages you think you will need later. Carry these:
- Pocket Quran
- Mini Umrah Guide
- List of Duas and Ayats
3. Medicines
A first-aid medical kit should be kept that will be your constant partner in all emergencies. Do take a consultation with your doctor before leaving for this trip so that he can prescribe you medicines if you have any illness. If you’re traveling with your children, keep medicines and syrups at hand.
- Normal Painkiller (Paracetamol, ibuprofen/aspirin (only for 18+), muscle pains etc.)
- Anti-diarrhea medicine
- Medicines for influenza
- Anti-allergy
- Any other specific medicines
4. Comfortable Shoes and Socks
Rubber/plastic slippers will be your long-run friend in the washroom there. Apart from flip-flops, sneak down your feet into trainers so that your feet don’t get bruised while walking.
Pack 2 pairs of light cotton socks to face the hot weather.
5. Clothes
Pay attention to this area as it’s preferable to keep light cotton clothes if you’re traveling in summer and reverse the scenario if it’s winter. It gets really cold at night in Makkah soo keep some good warm clothes and sweaters.
6. Hijab Caps/Cotton Caps
It is advised for women to wear the hijab cap so that your hijab doesn’t twirl from its place. Women having long hair should proper tie their hair before wearing a scarf.
7. Unscented Creams
Keep sunscreen, body lotion and any other cream that is not water-resistant so that you can perform ablution over it too. Better keep petroleum jelly that works for all (men, women, and kids)
8. Food
Keep in hand snacks and liquids including water, juices that you can have instantly. Stock enough food items for enough days, so that you don’t face any difficulty when you feel hungry. Also, keep paper plates, glasses, and plastic spoons.
9. Travel Bag
Choose your travel bag with wheels and leave an extra space in it so that it doesn’t become a big deal to roam around with it.
